You connect once. Those with solar rooftops generate more than they need and share their excess energy back into the network and earn from it. Those without get clean, affordable energy from their neighbours. Everyone pays a fixed monthly fee.
Solar technology costs have dropped more than 90% in 15 years. Batteries, another 80% in 10. Clean energy isn't expensive: it's the cheapest electricity ever produced. What costs money is moving it: the transmission lines, substations, and distribution networks between where it's generated and where you live. The proximity grid eliminates that distance and that cost. The CNMC sets the T&D fee to 0 for proximity self-consumption participants.
