With your type 2 connector, you can charge your car at home more quickly than with a conventional plug, as you can charge from 2kW to 7.4kW. And that means the charging capacity is three or four times quicker.
With the ChargePoint app, you can schedule charging times, and even use Alexa voice control. What’s more, it’s compatible with the majority of electric vehicles (with type 2 connectors).
The ChargePoint Home Charging Station electric vehicle charger has a robust, durable design, with a compact, discrete aesthetic. The best part: its coiled cable helps prevent it from getting damaged, and means it’s always neat and tidy.
Direct connection for a simpler, safe connection. Made with high-quality materials that guarantee optimum performance over time. Designed to handle adverse weather conditions.
What guarantee does the electric car charger have?
The electric vehicle charger has a 3-year guarantee.
How long does a home charger for electric cars like ChargePoint last?
How long your electric vehicle charger will last depends largely on the environment it’s installed in (humidity, temperature, dirt...), its use and maintenance and the quality of the electrical installation it’s connected to. If it’s installed in an optimum environment and used well, an electric car charger installed by Holaluz will last for approximately 10 years.
How long will the car take to charge? Does it take longer at home or elsewhere?
That depends on the public charging point. If it’s a quick charger, it’ll definitely be quicker than your home charging point. The maximum charge with ChargePoint is 7.4kW, and a Tesla battery has 33kWh, meaning a full battery charge will take 4-5 hours.
Does it work with all car models?
Yes, the important thing is that your electric vehicle has a type 2 connector. If you have another connector (Type 1 or CHAdeMo) you will have to add an adaptor.
What car models doesn’t it work with?
Mainly with old electric car models: Citroën C-Zero, Citroën e-Méhari, Kia Soul, Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, Mitsubishi i-MiEV, and Nissan Leaf (the new ones have type 2). To make it compatible, all you need to do is buy a Type 1 <> Type 2 adaptor.
Is there a specific subsidy for electric vehicle chargers like ChargePoint? Does it affect the NextGen subsidy or IBI rebate?
Yes, there’s a specific subsidy for electric car chargers: Moves III (which can be up to 70% or 80% depending on where you live). It doesn’t affect the NextGen subsidy or the IBI rebate (you can benefit from all three).
Do I have to contract more power if I install an electric car charger like ChargePoint?
Not necessarily. If you charge during the day you won’t need more power because the power from the grid combines with the power from your solar panels. If you charge during the night, you might have to increase your power in P2. The car decides how much charge it takes, so even if you have the power available, the car may never need it.
